Pr. Souren Grigorian

University of Siegen, Germany

Prof. Souren Grigorian is a visiting professor at the Chemistry Department, Sapienza University of Rome and head of the Soft Matter Physics Group at the University of Siegen. As an internationally recognised researcher, he was offered the role of invited professorship at Aix-Marseille University, France, and has also been a visiting professor at Sapienza University of Rome. Among his research interests are advanced X-ray techniques for investigating multifunctional soft materials, in-situ studies of working organic devices, direct correlation of microstructures and optoelectronic properties, and flexible organic electronics. Outside of his research, Souren Grigorian has actively participated in teaching on an international level, and has coordinated multiple grants for the International Symposium and Young Scientist School over several years. Pr. Nouar Tabet

Sharjah, United Arab Emirates

Prof. Nouar Tabet is the Dean of the College of Sciences and Professor of Physics at the University of Sharjah. He received his Master and PhD in Materials Sciences from University of Orsay Paris XI, France. His research interest includes silicon and perovskite solar cells, nanomaterials, and thin films. He is recipient of Al-Marai Prize for Innovation in Physics and the “Research Excellence Award” of KFUPM. He published more than 115 journals papers, 3 US patents, a book on nanotechnology and edited many conference proceedings and a theme issue of AJSE journal entitled “Science and Engineering at the Nanoscale, 2010. He served in many academic positions including: Rector of the University of Constantine - Algeria, vice rector in charge of Research and Graduate Studies, Director of External Relations of the University, Professor of Physics at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) and Chief Scientist at Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI). He was visiting scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, CNRS, France and MIT, USA.

Pr. Ammar Yahia

University of Sherbrooke, Canada

Le Pr A. Yahia est Titulaire de la Chaire industrielle du conseil de recherches en sciences naturelles et en génie du Canada (CRSNG) sur les bétons fluides à rhéologie adaptée. Cette chaire s’inscrit dans une vision de proposer des solutions pour innover et améliorer la productivité dans l’industrie de la construction. La chaire vise également la formation de futurs personnels hautement qualifiés dans un domaine essentiel pour contribuer à l’économie nationale à travers une amélioration de la durabilité des infrastructures en béton.

Pr. Mohammed Abdulsamad

King Fahd University, KSA

Dr. Mohammed Abdul Samad is an Associate Professor and the Director of Tribology Lab in the ME Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, KSA. He earned his Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore, Singapore. His main research interests include Micro\Nano tribology, thin films, coatings and surface engineering, polymer nano-composites, polymer nanocomposite coatings, and optimization techniques such as Taguchi methodology. He has about 80 journal papers in reputed journals on wide-ranging subjects and he presented his work at renowned conferences. He has been a principal investigator and a co-investigator in numerous funded projects and he is a recipient of the “Excellence in Research Award” in 2019 at KFUPM.

Pr. Pavol Hvizdos

Slovak Academy of science, Kosice, Slovakia

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pavol Hvizdoš, DrSc. is a leading scientist and researcher in the Slovak Academy of Sciences. He has been working in the Institute of Materials Research of the Slovak Academy of Sciences since 1988. He defended his PhD thesis in 1996 at the Technical University in Košice, Slovakia. In 2000-2002 he worked at Queen Mary University of London, UK, in 2003-2008 he held a post-doc position at Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. In both places he served as a teacher, supervisor of diploma and project theses, and PhD co-supervisor. After his return to the IMR SAS he has been working as a senior scientist and student supervisor (3 PhD, 10 MSc theses). His scientific expertise includes microstructure and fracture properties of composite structural ceramics, recently his interest have been focused on nanoindentation, tribology, and advanced fabrication methods of composite materials. He is a principal investigator and reviewer of a number of domestic and international research projects. He serves also as a reviewer in a number of world renowned material science journals. He is a member of several journal editorial boards. He authored over 200 scientific papers with more than 1400 citations registered in the world databases (Web of Science, h-index 21), 3 monograph chapters and 3 university textbooks. Since 2014 he has been the Director of IMR SAS, Košice, Slovakia. In 2020 he was appointed an associated professor at Technical University in Ostrava, Czech Republic. In the same year he defended his doctoral dissertation and became a Doctor of Sciences (DrSc.) in Slovakia.

Dr. Riccardo Boiocchi

Università Degli Studi di Brescia, Italy

After receiving education in Environmental Engineering from the University of Pavia in Italy, moved to Denmark to pursue his Master’s thesis and Ph.D. at the Technical University of Denmark. During his Ph.D., he studied modelling and control applied to wastewater treatment systems. He moved to Canada to work as a postdoctoral research fellow on wastewater modelling and control for both industries and academia. Later, he worked in Italy at the University of Brescia studying wastewater treatment modelling, control and monitoring strategies. He is currently employed as a junior researcher at the University of Trento doing research on universities’ sustainability.

Dr. Akram Alhussein

University of Technology Troyes, France 

Dr Akram Alhussein, actually an Associate Professor at the University of Technology of Troyes. He is teaching Mechanics of Materials and Metallic Materials and his research activities are focused on the development of protective and multifunctional coatings. His main research interests are thin films, hydrogen embrittlement and additive manufacturing. Actually, Dr Alhussein is a member of the LASMIS research unit board and an international responsible for the Materials and Mechanical Engineering division at the UTT. He is a lead of many research projects and a director of many PhD students. Dr Alhussein had got his PhD thesis in the field of Mechanics of Materials from the University of Lorraine in 2010. Between 2010 and 2012, He worked as an assistant professor at the University of Caen Lower-Normandy and then as a researcher at the University of Technology of Compiegne.

Dr. Corrine Nouveau

ENSAM- ParisTech, Cluny, France

Dr. Corrine NOUVEAU : Leader of the LABOMAP “Materials and Surface Engineering” (MSE) Team (labomap.ensam.eu/). Dr. NOUVEAU is one of the scientific leaders of the research group “Surfaces Functionalization” of the Network Manufacturing from April 2016. She is a member of the “Collaborative Work on Friction Data for Modelling of Machining” in the framework of CIRP “International Academy for Production Engineering” since 2017. She is also a member of the French-German Institute for “Industry of the Future” (ENSAM/KIT) since 2017. The scientific abilities of Dr. NOUVEAU are in relation with PVD process, especially in the field of new metallic, nitride or carbide PVD coatings (monolayer or multilayers) development for mechanical or biomedical applications. She is also working on hybrid treatments such as PVD + nitriding/carburizing

Dr. Serdar Özkaya

Karadeniz Technical University, Turkey

Serdar ÖZKAYA received the B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Karadeniz Technical University in Turkey. He obtained his Master and PhD degree at the same department, respectively on 2015 and 2021. His current research interests include powder metallurgy, metal based composites, nano structures, mechanical alloying, biomaterials and bioceramics. His research outcomes are recognized both nationally and internationally, as evident from his over 30 publications, many of which are published in high-impact journals and well cited. Moreover, he has presented more than 100 proceedings in national and international conferences and symposiums.
